Sox fans spend big bucks for World Series gear
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Red Sox fans area heading to the stores so they can be dressed like champions at Saturday’s duck boat parade.
The clothes come with a hefty price; more than $100 for a sweatshirt and $40 for a t-shirt, but that hasn’t stopped many fans.
Red Sox team store manager Brian Maurer said the top seller so far is the grey shirt with a picture of the trophy on it.
“You saw Papi and all those guys wearing it when they celebrated in the locker room. This is number one because people see it,” Maurer said.
Fans from across the world are buy Red Sox gear, including a group of business men from Japan.
“This year is special. Everybody wants to see Uehara. He is a big star in Japan,” Shimomeora Toshiro said.
