Former Patriot, Deion Branch, supports Hernandez
BOSTON (WHDH) -- A former teammate of Aaron Hernandez showed his support. Former Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch said he was shocked when he found out Hernandez was linked to the murder of Odin Lloyd.
Branch told the Albany Herald in Georgia, “Aaron is a great guy…and a great friend of mine…and a great teammate. I love him to death and it was shocking to hear his name involved in this situation. I truly hope and pray he doesn’t have any dealings with it.”
Despite Branch’s words, Aaron Hernandez remains behind bars. Investigators said they have very strong evidence against the 23-year-old, linking him to Lloyd's killing, nearly two weeks ago.
Hernandez is sitting in the Bristol County Jail and has twice been denied bail.
Meanwhile, another man arrested in connection with the case, could return to Massachusetts in the next couple days.
Police say Ernest Wallace was also involved in the murder. Wallace turned himself in to Florida police, two days ago, after hearing his name on the news.
