Suspect apprehended after hiding in boat
WATERTOWN, Mass. (WHDH) -- Suspect No. 2 hid out in a boat in the backyard of a home on Franklin Street in Watertown before being taken into custody on Friday night.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, was wanted in the Boston Marathon bombings. He was taken into custody after a manhunt that left the city of Boston and surrounding towns paralyzed.
Suspect No. 2 hid inside a large shrink-wrapped boat in the darkened backyard. A vigilant owner noticed things were amiss with the boat and called police. Upon police’s arrival, they exchanged gunfire. Officials waited him out and eventually got him out of the boat, where he was taken into custody.
Tsarnaey was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
