MSPCA-Angell's Pet of the Week: Cooper the Dog
Cooper the Basset Hound proves that purebred dogs can be just as easily rescued from animal shelters as purchased from breeders or pet stores.
And this 2-year-old boy is here to tell you that rescuing is way, way better than buying! Cooper was surrendered in late January to the MSPCA-Angell adoption center in Jamaica Plain by owners no longer willing to care for him.
Cooper is an energetic, adventurous and sweet-natured dog -- the perfect family pet. The adoption center staff believes he’d make an excellent companion for an individual as well. He has met other dogs and gotten along very well with them, though staffers encourage all introductions with other four-legged’s happen slowly over time. Cooper was also fast friends with the cat who shared his previous home. So adopters with dog-savvy cats are more than encouraged to meet him. And even though Cooper has short legs he still requires plenty of exercise; daily walks are very high on his “to do” list!
Cooper is neutered and in great health. He’s ready for his forever home!
