3 Somerville teens charged with alleged sexual assault
SOMERVILLE, Mass. (WHDH) -- 7News was the only station there when Police arrested 17-year-old Galileo Mondol, at an apartment on Fitchburg Street, on charges of allegedly sexually assaulting three freshmen males.
Two unidentified juveniles were arrested in addition to 17-year-old Galileo Mondol, who was is being charged as an adult.
Mondol faces numerous charges, including aggravated rape of a child, assault with intent to rape a child, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
According to the Berkshire County District Attorney, the incident happened at Camp Lenox last Sunday where the City of Somerville rented the facility for team building for their fall sports program.
Investigators say the three juniors entered the cabin occupied by the freshmen and sexually assaulted them.
The mother of one of the juvenile suspects had no comment after her son was taken into custody.
The three high school students are behind bars and are scheduled to be arraigned next Tuesday morning in Pittsfield.
Mondol's attorney, William Korman, said Saturday that his client has never been in trouble before and he is confident of exoneration.
Arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday.
