"The Secret Circle" fan favorite actress, Phoebe Tonkin, has joined the cast of "The Vampire Diaries" for a recurring role on the show.

Taking on the character of Hayley, which had been revealed in earlier reports to be a wild friend from Tyler's (Michael Trevino) past, Phoebe is set to appear on episode three of the new season this fall.

Coming to Mystic Falls for a surprise visit, Hayley's free spirited ways and sexy looks will surely not be very welcome by Caroline (Candice Accola). The new character, however, is also said to "be tough and intimidating," and to have "some surprises up her sleeve," so we can expect more from her than just a sexy visit to town!

t is also unclear at this time whether Hayley is of the human or supernatural variety, something that will be interesting to know once she shows up. We will also eventually find out what the new mysterious character's history is with Tyler, and how exactly they came to know each other.
