Mixing liquor with diet soda gives drinkers higher BAC

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Mixing liquor with diet soda may save some calories but it could leave you more intoxicated.

According to a new study, when you mix alcohol with diet soda, you achieve a higher blood alcohol concentration than you would with a regular soda mixer.

There's no sugar in the diet drink, so it goes through the stomach quicker, sending alcohol into the bloodstream faster.
