Event Date: 06/01/2013

Join your best buddies and run, walk or ride to Hyannis Port for the Best Buddies Challenge!

June 1, 2013 marks the annual Best Buddies Challenge where you can run, walk or ride. The Best Buddies Challenge is an event that allows participants and their paired buddies, people with intellectual disabilities, to devote their time to raising awareness and money for a great cause. The Best Buddies Challenge supports Best Buddies International, a worldwide volunteer organization which establishes employment and leadership development as well as friendships for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Participants of the challenge have the option to ride a bike 100, 50, or 20 miles, or they can partake in a 5K walk or run. There will be different starting points for each event. The 100 mile bike ride, which has rest stops along the way, will start at the JFK Presidential Library in Boston. The 50 mile ride begins in the town of Carver and the 20 mile ride begins in Cape Cod's oldest town, Sandwich. The 5k run/walk, led by gold medalist Carl Lewis, will begin at the Craigville Beach finish line in Hyannis Port.

You can register today as an individual, create your own team, or even join “Team Tom Brady" at http://myhp.bestbuddieschallenge.org/faf/home/waiver.asp?ievent=1028098. Fundraising commitment and registration fees vary depending on which commitment level you choose. Early registration is $50.

**To establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for the people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
